I just shot my first spread for SOAK last week. It was really thrilling, but also quite difficult. It isn't easy to make shoot sexy, artistic, tasteful, photos with great lighting, and little clothing...:-) I hope you guys like it! Read more... |

Sascha Knopf’s break-out performance in MGM’s “What’s the Worst That Could Happen?” as Danny DeVito’s social-climbing mistress put her on the Hollywood map. She was recognized as not just another raven-haired beauty but as a talented young actress with the comedic chops to hold her own with showbiz giants such as Danny DeVito, Martin Lawrence and John Leguizamo. Knopf went on to land a role in the Farrelly Brothers’ film “Shallow Hal” with Gwynneth Paltrow and Jack Black. She plays the beautiful version of the crotchety old nurse, “Tanya.” In conjunction with the bigger studio type films, Sascha can be seen in a wide array of indie films as well. She starred in the short film "Me and Daphne" which premiered at Sundance. The film was produced by Brett Ratner, and also stars Jeremy Piven, and Simon Rex. She also starred opposite Elizabeth Banks and Judah Friedlander in “The Trade. She can be seen as a Lolita-type vixen in the thriller “Blackmale” with Roger Rees and Bokeem Woodbine. Knopf was well on the road to stardom when a devastatingly tragic event hit her and her family causing her to take a hiatus from acting in December 2002. Her brother, Paul Allen Knopf, was killed in a small plane crash, and the loss of her sibling left her with a broken heart. However, she feels healing from this experience has made her a better actress and even a better person. Director Rick Stevenson kept auditioning Sascha before casting her as "Bessie Smith" in "Expiration Date" ..."because the character is so specific. She had to be sexy, interesting with a combination of sympathy and annoyance at the same time, but she totally pulled it off!" In “Expiration Date.” a Seattle-based romantic comedy, Knopf stars with newcomer Robert Guthrie, Dee Wallace Stone, Ben Ratner, and David Keith. “Expiration Date” premiered and competed in January 2006 at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. “Expiration Date” has won many awards to date including: Best feature and Audience Award at the Sedona Film Festival, As well as at the Omaha Film Festival and Best Picture, Best Director at Methodfest, and runner up for the audience award at Palm Springs. It was an official selection at the Newport Beach Film Festival this year, and was one of three feature films honored to end the festival and play a second time at the Newport Museum of Art. “E.D’” is the first modern film to screen at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. www.expirationdatethemovie.com "...I will have to say, Rick put me through some of the toughest moments, especially at the cemetery. I hadn’t been to one since my brother passed away two years ago. It says a lot about the level of trust and safety Rick provided that I could perform as I did while lying on top of a grave.” Recently, Knopf was cast opposite Christian Slater, William H. Macy, and Elisha Cuthbert , in “He Was a Quiet Man." ‘Quiet Man”, was directed by Frank Cappello (Constantine) and produced by Mike Leahy, who is famed for “Feast” on “Project Greenlight.” Knopf plays “Paula,” the company vixen, who is hated the women and lusted by the men. www.hewasaquietman.com. Knopf most recently has joined team “Star Walker” for an upcoming web series, and feature film playing the warrior angel “Naomi.” www.thestarwalkers.com Besides being a versatile, actress who can play both leading lady and character, Knopf also enjoys a second career as a professional photographer. Her work can be seen on the for the new handbag company Mimeki, which will be launched soon. www.mimeki.com www.saschaknopf.com has a photography page devoted too her art, while her site is under construction. Sascha feels her work in front of the camera has given her great insight in being behind the camera, and an understanding of the need for a "connection" between the photographer and the model. She strives for a cimematic look in her photographs. “...Sascha Knopf, playing Bessie, comes across as a hyperactive Annie Hall. She flounces around in overly floral clothing, offering Charlie heartfelt, if half-baked wisdom through lips that would make Angelina Jolie take notice.-FilmRadar.”“ …Knopf as the alternately cheery and gloomy Bessie, brings an air of Brittany Murphy- cheeriness to the role, minus the mega-annoyance factor of Murphy. - The SIFF. “ ...Sascha Knopf is a high-maintenance whirlwind of energy and impulse as a screwball dream girl..." -The Seattle Post Intelligencer. “…Robert Guthrie and Sascha Knopf, both of whom not only craft an entertaining and charming little romance, also have great comedic timing and energy.” -Coming Soon.net “…Sascha Knopf was born to play Bessie with irreverence and ebullience…”-A MovieEveryday.Com.
